Hello!
I'm Megan. I have cared for and worked with animals since I was a teenager, and I began pet-sitting professionally in 2018. I'm a military spouse, mom of a freshman in college, and pet mom to two cats and a senior golden retriever. Before becoming a mom and military spouse, I was an assistant vet tech. My specialties include cat care, special needs, neonatal, and senior care.
My Story
Newly based out of Trenton, South Carolina, where my family and I will continue to stay active in the community by fostering and caring for animals with a variety of needs. Paws & Talk is solely owned and operated by me, but I occasionally have extra hands. My husband, Colin, has a gift with dogs, and my daughter, Alanna, is extraordinary with cats. She is working toward a degree in Biology to work alongside animals as a vet and behavioralist.
Paws & Talk was inspired by my own special needs cat and a senior dog who did not react well to boarding and care outside of the home. Their stress prompted me to provide services to other pet owners who face similar issues when traveling or working. Along the way, I met a dog named Ava who had medical issues and visible scars and an owner who fought to help her adopted fur baby overcome every obstacle. Her past trauma created unforeseen behaviors that escalated with her health issues. Ava's life impacted me on a level that I can't put into words, but she is why I have chosen to further my education with a focus on animal behavior.
My mission is and will continue to be to create safe spaces to minimize stress and anxiety for you and your pet.
